Enable Offline Scanning on Azure ADLS

Get Azure Storage Account Name, Account Key and URL Prefix#

  1. Login to Azure portal.

  2. Use an existing storage account or create a new storage account. Refer to Microsoft documentation on how to Create a Storage Account. Use this storage account name in Storage Account Name field when providing Application Properties details for the datasource.

  3. Use an exsting storage container or create a new storage container. Refer to Microsoft documentation on how to Create a Container.

  4. Get Storage Account Key:

    1. Navigate to the storage account.

    2. Under Security + networking, click Access keys.

      Key details are populated on the right.

    3. Click Show Keys for keys to be populated.

    4. Use Key1 value in Storage Account Key when providing Application Properties details for the datasource.

  5. Get URL prefix:

    1. Navigate to the container, click Properties.

      Container property details are populated on the right.

    2. Use the URL prefix in the Application Properties details for the datasource.

Configure Offline Scan for Discovery Azure ADLS#

  1. In Privacera Portal, add a datasource system. See Datasource: Discovery: Add a Discovery Datasource System.

  2. Add an application to the datasource.

    1. Select a datasource system and add an application by clicking on the ellipsis icon found on the upper right corner of the Datasource system.

      The Add Application dialog box opens to the Choose tab.

    2. Select Discovery Azure ADLS data source type from the Application List.

      The Add Application dialog box opens to the Configure tab.

    3. Values for the following parameters in Configure Discovery Azure ADLS section are populated by default.

      • Application Name
      • Application Description
      • Application Code
    4. In Application Properties section, enter the following storage account details:

      • Url Prefix - Enter the URL Prefix associated with storage account.
      • Storage Account Name - Enter the storage account name.
      • Storage Account Key - Provide the storage account key which needs to be scanned.
    5. Click Test Connection to check if the connection is successful, and then click Save.

  3. Navigate to Discovery > Data Source to add a resource and initiate the scan on the resource. See Discovery.

  4. To verify the scan status, navigate to Discovery > Scan Status.

  5. To see the scan results, navigate to Data Inventory > Classifications.
